Akiane Kramarik: An Artistic Prodigy
Akiane Kramarik is a spiritually inspired American artistic prodigy and poet, a child genius excelling in both realist painting and poetry. Akiane's style, known as Akianism, is a universal mix of imaginism and realism. Her art which shows a maturity amazing for her age, flows from her own personal experiences with God, which she has been having since the age of 3; her visions of heaven; her own studies of God; nature and people; and her dreams.
Akiane was born into an atheistic family on the 9th of July, 1994 in Mount Morris, Illinois. A spiritual transformation which she had at the age of four brought her family to God and changed her life. Aged 4, she was drawing; at 5, she was using pastels and at 7, she had finished her first painting. Her first painting was a portrait of herself, which was sold for 10,000 dollars.
Akiane's paintings deal with a variety of subjects such as baby Jesus, and an older Jesus Christ, Mother Mary, love, African women, and forsaken children. Akiane does a lot of sketching before she starts painting and she frequently spends more than a hundred hours on a single work. Her favoured canvas size is 48"x 60" and her preferred mediums are oil paints for big portraits and acrylics for whole figures.
Through "The Planted Eyes", Akiane's fastest portrait and first oil painting which she did when she was 8, she wished to portray the beauty and misery of the black race. To create the self-portrait called "My Sight Cannot Wait For Me", Akiane arranged colours, background and forms from her own fertile imagination. "Co-Creating", a self-portrait in acrylic was in Akiane's own words visualized "through the view of the canvas and through the eyes of the spirit."
Akiane has produced two oil paintings of Jesus called "The Prince of Peace," and "Forgive Them, Father". Akiane prayed with her family for a model she could use to paint Jesus and that same day, a carpenter arrived at their doorstep and the result was "The Prince of Peace." The work was reported by a Russian television and radio network to be a precise match to an image obtained from the Shroud of Turin. Other works by Akiane include "Planted Eyes," "Innocence," "The Dreams," "Love is Never Alone," "Separation," and "Connection."
Her works have appeared in solo art exhibitions in Idaho, Virginia, Oregon, Washington, North Carolina, California, Utah, Arizona, and Iowa and in group art exhibitions in Florida and Missouri in the US and in Toronto in Canada. She has been inducted into the Kids Hall of Fame and has been chosen by ABI (United States) and Tribute Entertainment (London) as one of the twenty most talented artists in the world. Much of what she earns is given to charity. In addition to her artistic talents Akiane has also authored two bestsellers.
